On Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 6–9 pm there will be a fundraiser held at The Edison cowork space in Oxford, Mississippi for local literary and art collective, Quasar. The event will feature a visual art exhibit by Ruth Hogue and music by The Old Ways.
Quasar is a fresh new arts group whose goal is to give rising artists from the Oxford/Lafayette area the opportunity to share and market their work. Quasar is reaching out to the greater Oxford/Lafayette community to help expand the network their artists are able to reach.
In the four years since its inception, Quasar has gone from being a small gathering of artists performing poetry readings in a friend’s basement to a popular monthly series of visual art, literary, and musical showcases—regularly bringing in audiences of 80 or more persons! There is a Quasar website in the works, and a soon-to-be-released literary magazine (also titled Quasar). Sponsorship and attendance at the fundraising event on Sunday, July 25 goes towards assisting Quasar in these next stages of growth. Your support ensures Quasar can continue to inspire creativity and innovation in our community and helps cement Oxford’s status as a hub for the arts and as a safe haven for artists of all kinds.
