Elliot was born on June 6, 1990, in Hattiesburg, MS, to Melanie Hurt Christian and Anthony Wayne Christian. He graduated from George County High School, where he discovered a love and talent for baseball. He went on to study and play baseball at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Continuing his education, Elliot transferred to The University of Mississippi, where he was actively involved with his Sigma Chi Fraternity, and developed a lifelong devotion to Ole Miss sports. He attended every football, basketball, and baseball game he could, and if he wasn’t there in person, he was cheering the Rebels on from home or work. He was a manager at the Library Sports Bar in Oxford, where he found a close-knit work family and many beloved regulars. A fitness enthusiast, Elliot loved days spent in the gym. From a young age, he had a love for duck hunting and days spent in the woods with his dad, grandaddy, and brothers. Shooting and collecting guns were some of his favorite hobbies.
Elliot was known for his generous spirit and caring heart. He continuously went out of his way to help others, check in on friends, and offer words of encouragement. That same loving personality made Elliot the best husband and girl-dad around. His world was made whole when he married his wife, Ashley, and they welcomed their twin daughters, Harper and McRee. Always laughing and excitable, Elliot could turn the most mundane days into fun-filled adventures for his daughters. Whether on family trips to the mountains of Colorado and Wyoming, or midnight trips to the gas station for snacks, he made an adventure out of every moment. Though he was easy-going and passionate about life, he still led his family with a strong faith, acting as their pillar and beacon. He shared his love of Jesus with his daughters, leaving with them the same precious light he had to guide their way. Elliot was preceded in death by his grandparents, Darryl and Mary Hurt, and his cousin, David Hayes Mitchell.
Elliot is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Christian of Oxford, MS; his two daughters, Harper Christian and McRee Christian; his father, Anthony Christian of Jasper, AL; his mother, Melanie Christian of Lucedale, MS; his brothers, Josh Christian and his wife, Stephani of Oxford, MS, Brock Christian and his wife, Laney of Lucedale, MS, and Logan Christian of Brandon, MS; grandparents, Wayne and Kay Christian of Lucedale, MS; three nieces, Claire, Stella, and Collins Christian; two nephews, Case and Cooper Christian; as well as many cousins and his work family.
