On May 7, 2024, the Oxford Police Department took a walk-in report regarding a stolen firearm from the victim’s vehicle. On June 25th, 2024, OPD was notified by investigators with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department that they had Antavious Dukes, 21, of Oxford, Mississippi, in custody for Possession of a Stolen Firearm from the earlier report. Dukes was charged with Commercial Burglary by OPD.
Dukes was taken before a Municipal Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $20,000 bond, however his bond was revoked by County Court due to Dukes being out on a previous felony charge and is now being held without a bond.
OPD would to thank the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance in this case and helping keep our community safe.
