The Oxford Police Department has arrested Jowan Quintez Walker (28 of Calhoun City, Mississippi) in connection with a shooting investigation.
On December 5, 2024, at approximately 7:04 pm, the Oxford Police Department responded to the 100 block of Ed Perry Blvd for a report that someone had been shot. The victim was transported via a personal vehicle to Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi. The victim is currently in stable condition.
Walker fled the city but was apprehended later on by the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department. Walker has been charged with Aggravated Assault and will have a bond set by the Municipal Court Judge. This is an ongoing investigation and more information may be available at a later date.
