No. 4 Ole Miss hosts No. 3 Auburn on Saturday in Oxford in what has essentially become a College Football Playoff Elimination Game. The winner will remain in the top four while the loser will fall out of contention. Both Ole Miss and Auburn have one loss on the season.
Looking at Auburn, the Tigers are 6-1 overall, 5-0 at home and 1-1 on the road. Once we start looking at the spreads, Auburn’s record changes quite drastically. Against the spread overall, Auburn is just 3-4 and 0-2 on the road.
What’s that mean for Ole Miss? The Rebels are currently a 2 point favorite over Auburn according to SportsBettingAcumen.com. If you had been lucky enough to place $100 a wager on the Rebels winning the National Championship back in May, you would be looking at a payout of over $4,500. FYI, Mississippi State’s payout for the same wager would be over $10,000.
Ole Miss has been lighting it up for wager placers this year, going an incredible 7-1 against the spread. All but one of Ole Miss’ games have gone under the predicted total and Ole Miss is a solid 4-0 against the spread at home.
