Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires
Special in-store show at End Of All Music (5 pm)
and Nighttime show at Proud Larrys’ (10 pm-ish)
Thursday, August 16th
Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires will play in-store at The End of All Music Record Store in Oxford, Mississippi on Thursday, August 16th at 5 pm in support of their new record, There is a Fire in Gilead. They’ll be playing a show at Proud Larry’s later that night.
They toured The States with their friends Alabama Shakes earlier this spring, and have been receiving a flood of press accolades, include Rolling Stone recently choosing their track “Opelika” as one of their favorite songs right now in their new RS Playlist, and proclaiming their sound on it as “the second coming of Creedence.”
In addition, Alabama Shakes’ singer/guitarist Brittany Howard recently called out Lee & The Glory Fires as her favorite new band in the UK music magazine NME, where she stated, “I love watching Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires. Terrific performers. Lee reminds me of a young Bruce Springsteen and The Glory Fires are relentless. The musicianship is incredible and I’ve learned a thing or two watching the way the guitars interact with one another. Nothing like good old-fashioned rocknroll. Touring with them was an absolute blast!”
