Is Chad Kelly Mr. Irrelevant? One website thinks so and with the 2017 NFL Draft nearing, he is picked to go late sixth round, possibly even in that heralded last spot.
At Ole Miss, Kelly led the Rebels to instant success before suffering a season ending injury mid-way through his senior year.
In his first season with the Rebels, Kelly finished with a 10–3 record and became the first Ole Miss quarterback to lead the Rebels with victories over Alabama, Auburn, and LSU in the same season.
The second year didn’t go as planned, with the defense blowing big leads to Florida State and Alabama early on and the Rebels never recovered.
After Kelly left Ole Miss, he was barred from the NFL Combine with sources citing his off the field record for the league’s non-interest.
As Ole Miss football awaits its destiny from the NCAA for the Kelly years, one thing is apparent, no one believes in Chad Kelly, and that’s the way he likes it. The former Rebel signal caller has always been a buck the system type of guy and it would not surprise many in Oxford to see him become successful at the professional level.
