On November 20, 2017, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to the Tobacco Superstore, located on North Lamar Boulevard, for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers were able to identify the suspects, identified as Crystal Townsend (28 of Oxford) and Cedric Williams (33 of Oxford), from the store’s surveillance cameras. Officers, along with deputies from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, received information that Townsend and Williams were in Brittany Apartments. Officers and Deputies responded to Brittany Apartments where Townsend and Williams were taken into custody. They were both transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. Williams was booked for robbery and possession of cocaine and Townsend was booked for conspiracy to commit robbery. William’s bond was set at $100,000.00 and a hold was placed on him for MDOC. Townsend’s bond was set at $60,000.00.
