VICE.com recently aired a segment on HBO on the Starkville Board of Alderman‘s decision to reject an application to host a pride parade. In the segment, they used a bunch of footage The Local Voice shot in 2016 of the Oxford Pride Weekend.
The segment was credited with helping to reverse the Alderman’s decision on March 6, 2018. The inaugural Starkville Pride Parade will commence on March 24.
