The Mid-Town Farmers’ Market will be open each Saturday May through October (7-11am). In addition, the Wednesday market will be open each week (~8am to 1pm), beginning on a Wednesday to be announced. The first Saturday of each month will be a children’s day conducted by Sue Castens, with face painting and other fun activities usually beginning around 8 am.
Below are some highlights from the Saturday market, near the end of the 2012 season:
- Shore-to-Door: fresh-caught wild Gulf shrimp
- Sidney Shaw: sunflowers
- Pontotoc Ridge Blueberry Farm: figs, pears, peas (shelled & unshelled), okra, jams, and jellies
- Bost Farm: tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, potatoes, eggplant, bell pepper, banana pepper, green beans, butterbeans, purple hull peas, okra, zinnia flowers, lantana, watermelons
- Brewer Farm: snap and pole beans, cucumbers, peppers, squash, tomato, eggplant, and onions
