At 9:30 AM Friday morning an employee opening up discovered the cash box was  taken which contained an amount of cash along with a section of the clubs fence pulled down. Jerry Paten 51 of Oxford

On June 15th the Oxford Police Department received a report of a sexual assault. After speaking to the victim, the victim stated that they wished to pursue charges against him. On June 18th a warrant was issued for Jerry Paten. On June 19th Jerry Paten was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. Paten was booked in on the charge of Sexual Assault (97-3-65). Paten was taken before Judge Mickey Avent and his bond was set at $20,000.00.

Timothy Moore

On Sunday, June 21, the Oxford Police Department responded to 317 Ridgewood Manor for a 911 call where a female was screaming in the background. After arriving on scene, it was found that a domestic assault was going on. Timothy Moore(24 Oxford, MS) was arrested for domestic violence-aggravated assault. Moore was given a bond of $10,000.

Jacob Counce Malicious Mischief

On Friday June 19th 2015, Oxford Police Officers arrested Jacob Counce 23, of Memphis, Tn. This was a result from the victim coming in to sign chargers on the subject for damaging his vehicle. The estimate was over a $1,000.00 and bond was set at $2,500.00.

Powell Christopher

Christopher Powell, Motor Vehicle Theft

On Thursday June 18, 2015 Investigators with The Oxford Police Department arrested Christopher Powell 21 years of age from Oxford, MS In connection with a June 11, 2015 stolen vehicle from University Trails Apartments located off of Whirlpool Dr. Powell was apprehended in Panola County after authorities there located the vehicle and attempted to initiate a vehicle stop. Authorities in Panola County had to pursue Powell who wrecked the vehicle and was taken into custody. Powell was bought back to Lafayette County where he was taken before a judge on Motor Vehicle Theft. Powel’s was currently out on a Felony bond and the Judge revoked his bond remanding him to the Detention Center. (picture sent separately)

Wendy Michelle Clark-Austin, 3 Counts of Uttering Forgery and 3 Counts of Identity Theft

On Wednesday June 10,2015 Investigators with The Oxford Police Department arrested Wendy Michelle Clark-Austin 36 Years of age of 1434 Snowden Avenue, Memphis, TN on 3 Counts of Uttering Forgery and 3 Counts of Identity Theft. Austin’s bond was set at $75, 000 (picture sent separately).

On Thursday, June 18, 2015 at approximately 2111 hours Officers and Investigators were investigating a reported Attempted Armed Robbery at a local Bank ATM Machine. The victim stated that he drove up to the ATM to withdraw money and an unknown male approached the rear of his vehicle holding what appeared to be a hunting knife and demanded money several times during their encounter. The victim stated he responded to the subject that he had no money and quickly entered his vehicle and drove away from the area and called police.

The Oxford Police Department encourages everyone to be aware of their surrounding’s at all times and if at any time you feel uncomfortable about a situation to simply drive away and alert authorities of the suspicious behavior.

On Friday June 12, 2015 Officers with The Oxford Police Department responded to a disturbance call within the city limits where a male subject had entered into a residence and assaulted a female victim. Upon arrival and investigating on the scene Curtis Anthony Cook 47 years of age of 209 Cookstein Dr. Oxford, MS arrested for Burglary and Domestic Violence – Aggravated Assault. Cooks bond was set at $10,000.

On Friday June 12, 2015 Officers with The Oxford Police Department arrested Dianne Evans of 111 West Monument St. Jackson, MS for Felony Fleeing In A Motor Vehicle and DUI 2nd . This occurred as a result of an Officer attempting to make a traffic stop. Evan’s bond was set at $10,000.

Larry Binion – Burglary of a Business

On May 10th 2015 Discount Building Materials was broken into, Investigators were able to locate video of the suspect. After attempts to identify him were unsuccessful Investigators began checking with other agencies in the area to assist. We were contacted by the Eupora Police Department who also had a business burglary similar to ours. Their suspect resembled the same person as the one in our video. As talks continued with them they contacted us this week to inform us that Houston Police Department had a Subway restaurant broken into and they caught a suspect. The suspect was Larry Binion, 49 of Greenwood. In each video Binion had on the same clothes and same MO as he entered the buildings. Investigators were able to identify Binion as our suspect from the Discount burglary. There may be more suspects involved and Investigators are working with the other agencies to finalize the cases.

After an investigation, Mykalia Jamison (24 Holly Springs, MS.) was arrested for Felony Malicious Mischief after she cut the tires on a car and hit the car with a tire tool. The amount of damage was greater than $1,000. Jamison was given a bond of $2,500.

Marquavious Brown – Strong Arm Robbery

On Thursday, June 4, the Oxford Police Department arrested Marquavious Brown (20 Oxford, MS.) for Strong Arm Robbery. The police department received a call about Brown entering a home, stealing a wallet from the residence, removing the money and leaving the wallet. The homeowner was present but could not stop Brown. We were able to locate Brown walking near University Ave. When he saw us a foot chased ensued and Brown was caught. He was arrested for Robbery and was given a bond of $10,000.00.

On 06-01-2015, the Oxford Police Department received a call about a male with a gun in the area of Pegues Road. Officers later found Jamie Milliken(22, Oxford, MS) in possession of a weapon. During the investigation it was discovered that he was a convicted felon. Milliken was arrested for Possession of a weapon by a felon and his bond was revoked.
