58 year old James Allen Colton of Abbeville, Mississippi.
On Sunday, June 16, 2024, at approximately 5:09 pm, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an assault on County Road 129. The caller stated a woman had showed up at their door and was bleeding. Deputies arrived on scene and spoke with the victim who stated she had been assaulted and raped. Investigations were then notified and met the victim at Baptist Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
The victim later identified 58 year old James Allen Colton of Abbeville as the suspect. The victim signed charges on Mr. Colton for Rape – Assault With Intent To Ravish. Mr. Colton was arrested and then transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked in. Mr. Colton was charged with Rape – Assault With Intent To Ravish, and was issued a bond of $100,000.00 by a Justice Court Judge.
Mr. Colton also has a hold for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
