We had a packed house at our town hall meeting Thursday night in Columbus. The crowd asked great questions about the economy, Obamacare, and many more topics. I understand how frustrated people are with Washington right now. I am every bit as frustrated with the deliberate efforts by the Administration to hide the truth from the American people when it comes to Benghazi, the IRS scandal, and issues surrounding the NSA.
Republicans in the House are using our oversight and investigative authority to the full extent of the law and will continue to do so because the American people deserve to know the truth. Equally important is making sure the people responsible for these scandals are held accountable.
People at the town hall were most concerned about Obamacare. I told them we must continue to fight for full repeal so we can replace Obamacare with patient centered reforms that lower costs and increase choice.
Moving into the Fall, the toughest issue we will face is how to most effectively fight for our principles and goals in a town with a Democrat-controlled Senate and White House. My message to the folks in attendance was that while Republicans sometimes disagree on tactics, we are 100% united in our desire to limit government to its proper role, to offer a compelling alternative to the failed status quo, and to leave a free and strong America for the next generation.
