The rich tapestry of Southern storytelling gets another stitch with this brand new show from Anubis Improv. A break from their comedy offerings, Chronicle invites six storytellers to tell a true-to-life story inspired by the theme Pride. Interwoven between the stories will be live music.
Anubis Improv founder David James Hamilton shares: “When we ran this show in New Orleans years ago, then called Unreliable, we found that something truly magical happened at the intersection of the stories and the music. We’re hoping we can recreate that magic for Oxford.”
This inaugural show will feature stories from some well-known and well-decorated Oxonians, including Kaye Bryant, Rebecca Jernigan, Jason T. Plunk, Sha’ Simpson, Jaylin Smith, and Lynn Wells. Music will be provided by local songwriter Kyle Kite.
The show is taking place on Saturday, June 1 at 7.30 pm at The Powerhouse. Presale tickets are available here: https://oxfordarts.com/shop/product/5336-anubischronicle, and will be available at the door.
The Powerhouse is located at 413 South 14th Street in Oxford (on the corner of University Avenue). Parking is in back near the water tower.
