On January 26, 2019, private security at The Hub, located on Anchorage Road, observed two males entering vehicles. They contacted the Oxford Police Department and once officers arrived on scene they found Dawson George (20 from Booneville, Mississippi) and Ethan Oakes (19 from Saltillo, Mississippi).
Both suspects were placed under arrest and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. Later that morning, victims began reporting items missing from their vehicles. A search warrant of the car driven by the suspects yielded a majority of the stolen items.
George and Oakes were charged with eight counts of auto burglary and taken before a Justice Court Judge where both were given a bond of $25,000 each.
