Oxford, Miss. (TLV) – Michael John Namorato, local musician and drummer of Oxford’s longest running band, The Cooters, was married to Rachel Elizabeth Rogers in historic St. Peter’s Episcopal church in downtown Oxford, Mississippi, last Saturday, May 26, 2012, to a packed house of family, friends, and locals.
The Groomsmen included bandmates Gentry Webb and Newt Rayburn, as well as Jeff “Hoss” Mitchell, Patrick McKeage, and Al Cotten. Michael’s father, Michael Namorato was the Best Man.
Rachel’s Bridesmaids included Rachel Namorato Phillips, Kim Barczak, Rebecca Garner, Amanda Crockett, Rebekah Johnson, and Nikki Courson. Rachel’s twin sister Jennifer Rogers was the Maid of Honor.
Joe Bell and Chris Phillips were the ushers. Reverend Wilson Webb officiated the wedding.
The Cooters played a rowdy set of songs at the reception, which included covers by Motley Crue, Jane’s Addiction, Poison, Nirvana, Metallica, Black Sabbath, RUSH, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Kiss, and more.
