The Oxford Police Department has announced that Captain Kevin Parker has graduated from the FBI National Academy, a training program for U.S. and international law enforcement leaders.
“Captain Parker was selected for this honor based on his demonstrated leadership qualities and his commitment to advancing the standards of law enforcement,” a media release from OPD said.
The FBI National Academy is a 10-week professional course of study that brings together law enforcement leaders nominated by their agency heads. The program covers a wide range of subjects, including intelligence theory, terrorism and terrorist mindsets, management science, law, behavioral science, law enforcement communication, and forensic science. It is designed to improve the administration of justice within police departments and raise the standards, knowledge, and cooperation among law enforcement agencies worldwide.
Chief Jeff McCutchen expressed his pride in Captain Parker’s achievement: “We are honored to have Captain Kevin Parker represent the Oxford Police Department as a graduate of the FBI National Academy. Kevin is an outstanding husband, father, and police officer.
“When you think of leaders who serve others first and lead by example all while being one of the very best law-enforcement officers I’ve worked with, you think of Kevin Parker. This training will be a valuable asset to Kevin, the citizens of Oxford, and the Oxford Police Department,” McCutchen said.
Captain Parker’s graduation from the FBI National Academy not only reflects his personal dedication to excellence but also marks a significant achievement for the Oxford Police Department. His enhanced skills and knowledge will further benefit the community and reinforce OPD’s commitment to serving with integrity and professionalism.
