The Oxford Police Department was recently made aware of a Facebook account associated with the agency that was citing negative and racist content.
Authorities were alerted that a fraudulent account of OPD Captain, Hildon Sessums, was publishing offensive material. Upon initial investigation it was determined that the account was created by a third party who was not associated in any way with Captain Sessums, the Oxford Police Department, or the City of Oxford.
OPD is working with Facebook to identify and locate the owner of the false account. This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
