A photo published online by a Tennessee fan allegedly showing Ole Miss defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche hitting a bong has gone viral. Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze addressed the media on Monday and was questioned about the picture.
His reaction:
“Besides, ‘I hate the internet and the pictures that float around on it from time to time?’ I’m very aware of the picture,” Freeze said. “I’m also aware of when it was taken and where it was taken. We test our entire team on our drug testing policy at the beginning of the season. Then we have our other follow-up tests throughout the course of the year, and I’m super confident that we handled each one the same. We enforce our policy very consistently.”
Nothing was mentioned on the status of Nkemdiche for this weekend’s home game against Tennessee. If anything, the photo gives Ole Miss’ top rated defense a little extra motivation going into Saturday’s game.
The No. 3 Rebels (6-0, 3-0) will face Tennessee at 6:00 Saturday evening in Oxford. The game will be televised by ESPN.
