Known for being the best spot around to pick up some cold beer, family owned and operated Betty Davis also serves up some unbelievable barbecue—pulled pork, ribs, rib tips, whole chickens, and chicken wings. All of their meats are smoked on premises. Side items include potato salad, baked beans, and coleslaw, but if you give them a little notice they can prepare additional dishes upon request. They also offer delivery for an additional charge.

Little Easy Express Lunches & Catering (662-234-5737):
Located inside Littlejohn’s Quick Shop on Hwy 30, Little Easy aims to impress all of the folks at your tailgating event. Owner Tim Woodard describes his fare as “comfort food with a taste of home in every bite.” Their new menu includes Sweet Tea Marinated Pork Loin Sandwiches, Delta Fried Chicken Nuggets served with peach ketchup, Marinated 3 Bean Corn Salad, and Memphis Style Pulled Pork. Delivery is an option, and pick-up orders can be placed up to three days before game day.
Mink’s on the Park (662-259-2263):
Mink’s offers over 30 sandwiches, wrap style, served in pinwheels on their tailgating menu, along with bean salad, pasta salad, pimento cheese, and chicken salad as sides and mini cheesecake bites for dessert. They also offer a breakfast catering menu that includes turkey or ham and cheese croissants, cinnamon rolls, and a variety of boxed coffees. One day notice is appreciated, orders can be picked up in the morning the day of the event.
Olivia’s Food Emporium (234-4443):
“Your One Stop Grove Shop,” with a Grove Menu that is designed to please the palate of every game day diner. From an assortment of finger sandwiches to tamales and etoufée, they’ve got it covered. They also offer gumbo, jambalaya, crawfish cheesecake, mini beef wellingtons, and a variety of other options, including breakfast items. For folks with a sweet tooth, they’ve got Shug’s Cakes in caramel, key lime, coconut, strawberry, and butter pound cake. You’ve got to check out their new Red Cup line that includes wine glasses, shot glasses, and tumblers all in the shape of the classic Red Solo Cup!
The Main Event (234-9300):
This season marks the debut of a tailgating service by Main Event, the catering division of City Grocery Restaurant Group. They have an order form online that can be completed and faxed in. The menu consists of “No Fork Required” appetizers including Drunken Meatballs, a Polish Sausage & Cheese plate, and 7 Layer Dip. They also offer several types of sandwiches, and “Themed Plates” such as the New Orleans, which can be filled with Grillades & Grits and Red Beans & Rice, among other delicious options. Orders must be placed by Tuesday of the game week for pick up. They offer full service catering complete with tables, chairs, and tents for parties of 75+, and they have an off-site alcohol permit as well, so they can provide a full bar.
Rib Cage (238-2929):
This popular local establishment can ship their mouth-watering ribs anywhere overnight—why not give them a call to cater your event? Their tailgating menu includes options like the Rib Pack, which comes with 2 racks of ribs, 2 pints of beans, 1 pint of slaw, 1 pint of potato salad, bread and sauce. They also have Party Trays that offer your choice of hot wings, chicken thighs, and drumsticks. They will provide individual set ups of iced tea, cups, utensils, and extra sauce.
South Depot Taco Shop (234-7886):
Want to set up a taco bar at your tailgating event? South Depot has everything you need. Customers can choose from rice, black beans, chicken, steak, tofu, corn salsa, guacamole, and lots of other yummy taco fixings by the pint or the quart. You can also order gallons of tea and bottled drinks, and cookies for dessert. Perfect for football fans who want to spice up their game days.
Soulshine Pizza Factory (533-7685):
Known for their fantastic pizza pies, Soulshine has a great deal for this upcoming football season; order 10 specialty pizzas, and get the 11th free! Aside from pizzas, they also offer Po-Boy Platters served with fresh deli meats, cheeses, and lettuce and tomato. Other options are hot wings, hot tamales, spaghetti and meatballs, and Billy Blue’s Red Beans & Rice, which is served with Country Pleasin’ Smoked Sausage, and a loaf of Gambino Bread with melted garlic butter. Set ups can also be ordered—cups, plates, utensils, and napkins per tailgater.
Old Venice Pizza Company (236-6866):
OVPC’s catering menu is packed with dishes that are guaranteed to tantalize some tailgating taste buds. They offer a variety of specialty pizzas including the John Wayne which is topped with sliced chicken breast, cheddar cheese, mozzarella, and smoky BBQ sauce, and the vegetarian friendly Great White, a pie covered in Alfredo sauce, smoked gouda, mozzarella, parmesan, feta, arugula and spinach. You can also create your own pizza, and they have several pastas, including ravioli, spaghetti and lasagna. Delivery is an option for an additional charge and 24 hour notice is appreciated.
