Kenny Brown, Rivers Rutherford and Leslie Satcher All to Appear for Special Conversations and Performances in the Sanders Soundstage
GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi has revealed the upcoming lineup of artists who will be featured in their Words & Music: A Songwriter Series. Artists who will visit the Mississippi Museum to participate in an intimate conversation and performance will include American blues slide guitarist Kenny Brown on Monday, March 21, Nashville Songwriter’s Hall of Fame inductee Rivers Rutherford on July 11, and Nashville singer/songwriter Leslie Satcher on October 10.
“We are so thrilled to be welcoming such talented artists and songwriters to our Museum this year,” said Emily Havens, Executive Director of GRAMMY Museum Mississippi. “Kenny Brown, Rivers Rutherford, and Leslie Satcher have all made such incredible contributions to American music, and we can’t wait to have them here to tell their stories.”
Kenny Brown has lent his talents to recordings by artists including R.L. Burnside, Jojo Herman, Junior Kimbrough, Cyndi Lauper, and The North Mississippi Allstars, among many others. Rivers Rutherford has written songs for such iconic artists as Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, The Highwaymen, Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, and many others. Leslie Satcher has written or co-written songs that have been recorded by artists such as Sheila E., Vince Gill, Ariana Grande, Willie Nelson, George Strait, and many more.
Words & Music: Kenny Brown will take place on March 21 at 7 pm in the Sanders Soundstage. Tickets for all programs in the Words and Music series are $15 for GRAMMY Museum Mississippi Members and $20 for non-members. Tickets are currently on sale at grammymuseumms.org. The events will feature a moderated discussion followed by a performance.
