On Monday, May 27, 2019, officers with the Oxford Police Department made a traffic stop on West Jackson Avenue for a vehicle that was driving carelessly. Officers came in contact with Datrel Williamson (31 of Hattiesburg, Mississippi) and suspected him of driving under the influence. A DUI investigation was conducted on Williamson. During the stop officers learned that Williamson had at least two prior DUI convictions on his record. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where was charged with DUI 3rd, speeding, careless driving, no driver’s license, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. He was given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
