On April 19, 2018, Officers responded to the area of 725 Molly Barr Rd, Rockette’s One Stop Express, for a report of shots being fired.
The caller was able to give a description of the suspect, later identified as Xzaien Shipp (25) of Holly Springs. While responding to the call officers received information that Shipp shot several more times from his car while pursuing the victim as they were leaving the gas station. A description of Shipp’s vehicle was also given and officers located it on Jackson Avenue near 5th Street.
Shipp was taken into custody on Jackson Avenue without incident. During the on scene investigation officers recovered the firearm used in the shooting and discovered that it was stolen. A felony amount of marijuana was also found.
Shipp was transported to LCDC and booked for Aggravated Assault, Drive by shooting, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, and Possession with Intent to Sell Marijuana. Shipp was taken before a Lafayette County Justice Court Judge and his bond was set at $500,000.00.
No one was injured during the shooting.
