Ah, how they carried on over the William Faulkner statue. I can’t help but think Mr. Faulkner was chuckling at the town fussing over him decades after he left us.
Today people come from all around the country, indeed the world, to see Oxford’s Square and Tupelo’s downtown and have their pictures taken with Bill Beckwith’s statues of William Faulkner and Elvis Presley.
