“Gale and I rented from him (Oxford Police Department Assistant Chief H.C. Franklin) for 17 years. We started out with C&M Package Store and later took over Yerk’s lease after Bob had to move back home to take care of his mother. Miss Jimmy, H.C.’s wife, offered Franklin’s Country Store to us so she could retire and we took it over.” —Wayne Loner
