Henry Roy Smith III (67 years old) of Lafayette Springs, Mississippi.
On March 2, 2024, Deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, received a report from a victim of domestic violence. Upon receiving the report, investigators were called to conduct an investigation regarding the alleged incident. Investigators conducted interviews with the victim and witnesses and were able to establish probable cause for an arrest warrant and search warrant of the residence were the crime occurred.
Investigators secured arrest warrants on the charges of Aggravated Domestic Violence and Rape – Assault with Intent to Ravish. The suspect, Henry Roy Smith III (67 years old) of Lafayette Springs, Mississippi, was taken into custody at his residence without incident.
The victim has received medical treatment for injuries sustained during the assault. Due to the nature of the crime, no other information will be available at this time.
This is an ongoing investigation. Henry Roy Smith III appeared before a Justice Court Judge on Monday, March 4, 2024, and received a bond of $100,000.00. Smith is currently being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center awaiting bond.
