On Thursday, October 18, 2018, the Oxford Police Department arrested Calvin Scott Jr (23 of Memphis, Tennessee) on a felony false pretense warrant.
On Thursday, September 27, 2018, officers with OPD took a report that the victim had sold a vehicle to Scott on September 16, 2018. Scott paid for the vehicle with a cashier’s check in the amount of $13,806.72.
When the victim went to deposit the check he was notified at that the check was returned. Scott was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center and given a bond of $15,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
