Today the Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting 585 new cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 26 new deaths. Mississippi’s total of COVID-19 cases since March 11 now stands at 80,695, with 2,399 deaths.
Currently there are 696 Mississippians hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 infection. There are currently 229 people hospitalized in intensive care for confirmed COVID-19.
29 of the new cases reported today were among residents in long-term care facilities with 8 deaths in long-term care, and there are now 169 active outbreaks of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities (where an outbreak is one or more cases among residents or staff).
