New Orleans indie-pop band Nyce! will travel to Oxford for the first time to deliver an expressive musical experience September 1st from 7–10 pm at The Shelter on Van Buren. Nyce! Started as an acoustic duo playing the streets of New Orleans. The group has doubled to become a singer-songwriter quartet. Danielle Ryce‘s unique vocals and violin talents combine with Nic Lefebvre on upright bass, Cemre Dogan on drums, and Elliot Slater on guitar to create a sound that is best described as “eclectic and experimental, yet refined and consistently groovy”.
Nyce! started out as an acoustic duo busking the streets of New Orleans. The group has doubled and now performs as as a quartet. Nyce! has gained traction in their home land of New Orleans and Louisiana. The band has also been recognized outside of their state thanks to their efforts on music sharing sites Soundcloud and Bandcamp.
The band is inspired by “any and every sound that reaches their ears.” Their music is inspired by a variety of genres; folk, indie, R&B, and traditional New Orleans music to name a few.
Nyce! set out on tour in January of 2016 featuring music from their new album, One. The album as well as more information about Nyce! can be found at www.nyce.life. Details about the show can be found on Shelter on Van Buren’s Facebook Event page.
