Ole Miss is coming off a 52-50 upset win over Tennessee at The Pavilion in Oxford on Tuesday evening. The defense paved the way to the victory by holding the Volunteers to just 1 of 14 field goal shooting in the final 13 minutes of the game.
Ole Miss improved to 9-8 overall and 4-6 in the SEC. The win over a Top 15 team was Head Coach Kermit Davis’ third since taking over three years ago.

The Rebels, who held Tennessee to just 36 percent shooting and erased an 11 point deficit down the stretch for the two point victory. A 2-3 zone press gave the Volunteers fits during the final 10 minutes. Devontae Shuler led the Rebels with 15 points, including a three pointer that gave Ole Miss the lead with just four minutes to play.

“We played against such a tough and well coached team,” Davis said. “Down the stretch, we made some game winning plays. It was a whole group effort.”
Ole Miss will hit the road for a game at Auburn (February 6) and host Missouri (February 10) over the next week in SEC play.
