Ole Miss is currently sitting at No. 38 in the d1baseball.com RPI rankings. With an overall record of 25-24, the Rebels are at a point in the season where the next few games will determine if they receive an at-large bid to the NCAA College World Series Regionals.
A strength of schedule that is currently ranked No. 1 and 7-7 record against teams ranked in the Top 25 RPI is what has this young group of Rebels still in the hunt for a bid.
With six of their last seven games at home, Head Coach Mike Bianco has the Rebels in position to do just that. And after losing nine players off last year’s third place team, that would be quite an accomplishment.
Ole Miss will face Mississippi State (No. 92) in a three game series beginning on Thursday at Swayze Field. Each game will be carried by the SEC Network with first pitches slated for 7:30, 6:00 and 4:00 pm.
