Dakota Bowen 27 years old of Oxford, Mississippi.
On May 27, 2024, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Tula Community for a report of a domestic incident.
Deputies began speaking with the individuals involved in the assault and determined that the primary aggressor, Dakota Bowen 27 years old of Oxford, Mississippi, had assaulted a female individual. Dakota was arrested for Domestic Violence Simple Assault.
During the assault, it was determined that Bowen was in possession of a butcher knife. Bowen is a previously convicted felon for aggravated assault from June of 2016. Bowen was subsequently charged with Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon.
Bowen was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center without incident.
On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, Bowen appeared before a Justice Court Judge and given a $15,000.00 bond. This bond was revoked due to Bowen being on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. A hold was placed on Bowen by the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Bowen is currently being held in the Lafayette County Detention Center.
