Cory Lemond Smith 47 years old of Oxford, Mississippi
On May 29, 2024, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit received notification of a reported sexual assault from Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, Mississippi.
The investigation unit responded to the hospital and began an investigation regarding the assault. After completing the investigation an arrest warrant was issued for, Cory Lemond Smith 47 years old of Oxford, Mississippi, on the charge of Rape-Assault with intent to Ravish.
Smith turned himself into the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, May 31, 2024. Due to the nature of the crime, no further information will be provided at this time.
Smith appeared before a Justice Court Judge on Monday, June 3, 2024 and a bond was set in the amount of $100,000.00. Smith is currently being held at the Lafayette County Detention Center awaiting bond.
