On Sunday, February 17, 2019, the Oxford Police Department arrested Misty Douglas (37 of Sardis, Mississippi) for grand larceny. On February 15, 2019, officers with OPD took a report from a victim who stated that Douglas had taken their property. Information was given that Douglas was in possession of the property while at court. The victim signed charges and Douglas was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and given a bond of $10,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
On Monday, February 4, 2019, officers with the Oxford Police Department took a report of a credit card fraud. During the course of the investigation we were able to identify the person using the stolen card as Mona Johnson (40 of Batesville, Mississippi). A warrant was issued for felony credit card fraud and was served by the Panola County Sheriff’s Department on February 15, 2019. Johnson was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
On Friday, February 15, 2019, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to a report of an auto burglary where the suspect stole an iPhone. Officers located the suspect and identified him as Anthony Sockwell (31 of Oxford, Mississippi). He was subsequently arrested for one count of auto burglary and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. Sockwell was given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
On Tuesday, February 12, 2019, the Oxford Police Department arrested Robert Patterson (25 of Oxford, Mississippi) for felony malicious mischief. ON January 8, 2019, officers with OPD took a report about a vehicle being damaged. A description of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving was given to responding officers. The owner signed charges on Patterson after getting two quotes for repairs. On February 12, 2019, Patterson turned himself in and was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center. He was given a bond of $1,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
On Monday, February 11, 2019, investigators with the Oxford Police Department arrested Martize Wallace (28 of Olive Branch, Mississippi) for burglary of a dwelling. On February 7, 2019, officers with OPD took a report that someone broke into her house and stole a television. Through the investigation it was determined that Wallace was the one that stole the television from the victim’s house. Wallace was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
