Oxford, Mississippi Man Arrested for 4th DUI
On December 15, 2018, an officer with the Oxford Police Department clocked a vehicle with his radar speeding going south on Hwy 7. The officer turned around and attempted to catch up with the vehicle but noticed that it was now in a ditch.
The driver was identified as Martin Simmons (28 of Oxford, Mississippi). A DUI investigation was conducted and a blood warrant was issued.
Martin had at least three prior DUI convictions and has another DUI 4th pending from an arrest with OPD on 8/25/18. Martin was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center for DUI 4th, no insurance, driving while a license is suspended under the implied consent law, speeding, and failure to comply with an officer.
Martin was given a bond of $10,000 by a Justice Court Judge. 
Oxford, Mississippi Man Arrested for Possession of a Weapon by a Felon at College Hill Road Block
On December 17, 2018, officers with the Oxford Police Department were conducting a driver’s license checkpoint on College Hill Road when a vehicle driven by Keyron Pegues (28 of Oxford, Mississippi) pulled up to them.
Pegues explained that he did not have a valid driver’s license. Officers got Pegues out of the car and asked for consent to search which was granted. A firearm was located inside the vehicle. Pegues is a convicted felon.
Pegues was arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked for possession of a weapon by a felon. A Justice Court Judge set his bond at $2,500.

Three from Corinth, Mississippi Arrested in Oxford for Home Invasion
On December 3, 2018 officers with the Oxford Police Department were called to a residence for a report of a possible home invasion. Upon officers arrival the victim stated that Henry Weston (31) of Corinth, Laura Weston (40) of Corinth, and Dedria Beene (27) of Corinth entered his home on Olive Branch Way and assaulted him resulting in minor injuries. On 12/8/18 Henry Weston, Laura Weston, and Dedria Beene turned themselves in to Oxford police officers. Each person’s bond was set at $5,000.00 by a Justice Court Judge.
Batesville, Mississippi Woman Arrested in Oxford For Stealing Money from a Local Business
On Friday, December 7, 2018 Oxford Police Department took a report from a local business of an employee stealing money while on duty. The employee was identified as Andrei Casey (38) of Batesville, Mississippi. A representative of the restaurant signed an affidavit against Casey. On December 8, 2018 Casey was arrested and was placed in LCDC. On December 10, 2018, Ms. Casey was taken to see a Justice Court Judge where her bond was set at $2,500.00.
