On Friday, April 12, 2019, at approximately 10:18 pm, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to G&M Pharmacy on South Lamar for a burglary alarm. Upon arrival, officers found the power had been cut to the building and the glass front door was shattered.
The initial investigation revealed that an unknown male was seen on security cameras entering the business using a tool to break the glass door. Once inside the male stole a controlled substance and fled prior to officers arriving on scene.
OPD released photos of the male the next morning to the public which lead to the identification of the burglar as Jeremy Weathersbee (42 of Oxford, Mississippi). Warrants for his arrest were issued and he was arrested later that morning and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center.
OPD had an open vehicle burglary from February 2019 where a then unknown male entered a vehicle and stole property. Investigators were able to link this burglary back to Weathersbee.
Weathersbee was booked for 2 counts of commercial burglary and 1 count of possession of burglary tools. His bond was set at $25,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
