On Sunday, September 29, 2019, at approximately 11:00 am, the Oxford Police Department received a report of a domestic violence incident that occurred in the early hours of the day.
The victim advised during the altercation the suspect, Brian Dinnell (26 of Oxford, Mississippi), had strangled her. Dinnell was arrested the next day for domestic violence – aggravated assault.
Dinnell was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was given a bond of $20,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
