On April 20, the Oxford Police Department responded to a reported assault of a minor in the 1100 block of Belk Boulevard. After investigation, Marcus Dewayne Jefferies, 42, of Oxford, Mississippi was arrested and charged with Felony Child Abuse.
Jefferies was taken before a Lafayette County Justice Court judge for his initial bond hearing and issued a $10,000 bond.
