On Friday, April 5, 2019, the Oxford Police Department made a traffic stop on Hwy 7 for speeding. The driver of the vehicle, James Vaughn (32 of Oxford, Mississippi), was suspected of driving under the influence so a DUI investigation was conducted.
During the investigation officers learned that Vaughn had at least four prior DUI convictions. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was charged with DUI 4th, Speeding, No Driver’s License, and No Insurance.
He was given a bond of $10,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
