On Saturday, May 19, the Oxford Police Department arrested Tracie Ellis (27 of Batesville) for Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
On May 19, 2018, a traffic stop occurred on Hwy 278 where Ellis was the front seat passenger. During the stop, a search was conducted of the vehicle and the stolen firearm was found in Ellis’s possession. Ellis was taken into custody and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. She was given a bond of $5,000 by Judge Carolyn Bell.
On Saturday, May 19, the Oxford Police Department stopped a vehicle for speeding. Upon investigation, the driver, identified as Lee Herron (57 of Oxford) was arrested with DUI.
It was determined during the stop that Herron had 2 prior convictions for DUI. He was subsequently charged with a DUI 3rd (Felony).
Herron was also cited for Speeding, Expired Tag, No Insurance and Expired Driver’s License. Herron was booked at the Lafayette County Detention Center and his bond was set at $10,000.00 by Judge Mickey Avant.
