On Thursday, January 31, 2019, the Oxford Police Department arrested Devin Rogers (24 of Water Valley, Mississippi) for commercial burglary, possession of burglary tools, and felony malicious mischief.
On December 29, 2018, Rogers, who was unknown at the time, entered the mailroom at The Flatts at South Campus on Old Taylor Road. While inside the mailroom he reached through a mail slot and stole two Apple iPad Pros.
On January 29, 2019, Rogers entered the mailroom at The Flatts at South Campus and pried open mailboxes belonging to residents and stole mail.
On January 30, 2019, Rogers returned, and again, broke into the mailboxes and stole mail. The Flatts at South Campus had video of the suspect in all three incidents.
On January 31, 2019, investigators and officers set up on the mailboxes to catch to catch Rogers. At approximately 7:45 PM, Rogers entered the mailroom at the Flatts at South Campus. As officers approached they caught him walking out with more mail in his hands.
Rogers was arrested without incident and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. His bond was set at $25,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
