On January 20, 2019, at approximately 12:04 am, officers with the Oxford Police Department were notified of an assault that had occurred on East Jackson Avenue next to South 10th Street. The victim was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi and then transferred to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
The suspect, Ta Darius McIntosh (19 of Pontotoc, Mississippi), was identified as the one that assaulted the victim. McIntosh turned himself in later that afternoon.
No weapons were used in the assault McIntosh was charged with Aggravated Assault and given a bond of $50,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
January 28, 2019 UPDATE:
On January 24, 2019, investigators with the Oxford Police Department arrested Brennan Desper (21 of Hattiesburg, Mississippi) for accessory after the fact. The charge stems from the aggravated assault report on January 20, 2019 involving Ta Darius McIntosh. Desper was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and given a bond of $10,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
