ATLANTA – As No. 9 Ole Miss prepares to take on No. 6 TCU in the Peach Bowl, droves of Ole Miss fans and their families are taking over Peachtree Street. The game before the game is in full swing, and The Local Voice Photographer Shelby Rayburn is in Atlanta covering the event. Follow us on twitter @LocalAthletics or on Facebook for coverage.
Head Coach Hugh Freeze knows how big this game is for the program, for the fans and for Ole Miss. In his final press conference before tomorrow’s game today, Freeze talked about being ahead of schedule in “The Journey”.
“To be here in year three of our journey, I think, is validation for us,” Freeze said. “In just three years to have gone to three consecutive bowl games, and this year being a New Year’s Six Bowl, I think, is validation enough that we’re on the right track and we were very, very competitive.”
Prior to Wednesday’s game, fans are invited to attend the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl parade from 8-9:30 am ET, beginning at the corner of Peachtree and Baker Streets in downtown Atlanta. The FanFest presented by Tyson will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center from 8:30-12:30. Cost for the FanFest is $10 with a game ticket and $15 without a ticket.
Ole Miss players and coaches will walk through the FanFest at 10:20, similar to the Walk of Champions through The Grove on game days in Oxford.
Ole Miss is the designated visiting team for the game and will occupy the South sideline. The team tunnel is in portal B below section L13.
Ole Miss and TCU will kickoff tomorrow at 11:30 AM CST. The game will be televised by ESPN.
