On Saturday, March 30, 2019, officers with the Oxford Police Department took a report from Beagle Bagel Café about an employee who was forging checks.
The employee, Madalen Crump (25 of Saltillo, Mississippi), had taken checks and written them to herself and then cashed them. The business signed charges of Uttering Forgery against Crump.
On April 2, 2019, investigators arrested Crump on the aforementioned warrant. She was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center. Due to being out on felony bond on a previous charge her bond was revoked. On April 10, 2019, Crump pled guilty to the charge and was sentenced by Circuit Court.
