Any Decision on School Closings Made Tuesday, February 17 at 8 am !
Oxford, Mississippi—Oxford School District officials announce a two-hour delayed school start time for students on Tuesday, February 17 because of uncertain road conditions caused by black ice (a thin coating of glazed ice on the road), fallen trees and downed power lines. All prekindergarten classes are cancelled for Tuesday, February 17. Any decision regarding school closings will be made by Tuesday, February 17 at 8 am by school district officials.
Students will start two hours later than their regularly scheduled school start time with delayed school start times and school dismissal times as follows:
• Bramlett Elementary School
Delayed Start: 9:40 a.m. (All prekindergarten classes are cancelled.)
Dismissal: 2:35 p.m.
• Oxford Elementary School
Delayed Start: 9:40 a.m.
Dismissal: 2:35 p.m.
• Della Davidson Elementary School
Delayed Start: 9:40 a.m.
Dismissal: 2:35 p.m.
• Oxford Intermediate School
Delayed Start: 9:35 a.m.
Dismissal: 2:40 p.m.
• Oxford Middle School
Delayed Start: 10:20 a.m.
Dismissal: 3:40 p.m.
• Oxford High School
Delayed Start: 10:20 a.m.
Dismissal: 3:40 p.m.
• Scott Center
Delayed Start: 9:30 a.m.
Dismissal: 2:30 p.m.
• Oxford Learning Center
Delayed Start: 10:25 a.m.
Dismissal: 3:40 p.m.
Students riding school buses in the morning to school will be picked up two hours later than their normal bus pick-up time.
Oxford School District employees are encouraged to report to work when road conditions are considered safe to do so.
