On Saturday, July 27, 2019, officers with the Oxford Police Department responded to Marquis Towing for a report of someone stealing a wrecker.
Later that morning, deputies with the Yalobusha County Sheriff’s Department located and stopped the wrecker. The driver and passenger bailed out on foot but were apprehended later than afternoon.
Cameron Collins (39 of Parrottsville, Tennessee) was identified as the person who stole the vehicle. He was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked for felony motor vehicle theft.
He was given a bond of $5,000 by a Justice Court Judge. However, the Mississippi Department of Corrections placed a hold on Collins because he was out on parole from a previous felony conviction.
