Mississippi has a long tradition of great music, from the Delta all the way down to the coast you can find someone carrying a tune and plucking at something like a guitar. Oxford is working to continue that tradition and at least a few people have taken notice.
The Lyric was named the seventh best live music venue in Mississippi by bestthingsms.com. This puts the old theater-turned-music-hall in the same company as the Amphitheatre at Snowden Grove, Blue Canoe in Tupelo, and Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale.
