On May 29, 2021, the Oxford Police Department received multiple reports spanning from May 29th through May 30th of auto burglaries in the areas of Eagle Point Loop, Chinkapin Loop, and the Ricky D. Britt. Multiple guns and large amounts of cash were stolen.
The investigation led to the arrests of Kenshawn Harden (19 of Oxford, Mississippi) and Tyler Owens (20 also of Oxford). Each were charged with six counts of Auto Burglary and two counts of Conspiracy to Commit Auto Burglary.
A Lafayette County Justice Court judge issued each a $50,000 bond, however, Harden’s bond was revoked as Harden was out on a previous felony bond and a hold was placed on Owens by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
