Video and photography have emerged from last night’s brawl and shooting that occurred inside The Lyric Theater in Oxford, Mississippi. The private party featured the group Epic during Double Decker Festival.
On April 27, 2018, at 9:48 pm, officers with the Oxford Police Department were outside The Lyric Theater working a post for Double Decker Festival when they reported a disturbance inside.
As police were entering, people were saying it was a shooting. The situation was quickly contained, and an investigation ensued.
A fight had broken out inside The Lyric. The suspect fired one shot off into the air. No one was actually hit by the shot fired. The victim who was hurt was injured by broken glass when everyone started running.
Police entered the building with guns drawn, according to witnesses.
