On Saturday, August 24, 2019, officers with the Oxford Police Department took a burglary report from a storage unit on Anderson Road. Video footage from the storage units lead to the identification of the suspect, Derrick Bowen (38 of Oxford, Mississippi).
A warrant for commercial burglary was issued on August 29th and officers were able to locate and arrest Bowen that same day. He was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center where he was given a bond of $10,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
